Who's Herb
Herb’s Organics was founded by Justin (Herbert) Partridge with a simple goal: to provide fresh, nutrient-dense vegetables and herbs to the Sea to Sky community, grown right here in Squamish.
Justin’s passion for growing food began in childhood, helping his grandmother start seeds and tend both their home garden and the expansive perennial beds of the Royal Botanical Gardens, where she volunteered as a Master Gardener.
With a background in Environmental Science and Economics from Dalhousie University, and over a decade of experience in the corporate world, Justin brings both ecological insight and strategic thinking to the farm.
At Herb’s Organics, we’re committed to organic farming practices that nourish our community, support the local ecosystem, and help build a resilient, self-sustaining food system in Squamish.
My Farming Principles
My farming principles are perfectly summed up in a quote by Liberty Hyde Bailey from 1908, found in Eliot Coleman's classic "The New Organic Grower"
Farmers must leave their part of the earth's surface in more productive condition than when they received it. This will be accomplished by a better understanding of the powers of the soil and means of conserving them, for every well-managed soil should grow richer rather than poorer; and, speaking broadly, the farm should have within itself the power of perpetuating itself.
